Vehicle Preparation and Disposal


MNH~Platinum sell over 1000 vehicles a year and have a specialised Disposal Team, whom have many years experience preparing and disposing of vehicles.

Our disposals manager has over twenty five years experience in the used car market and is happy to advise and mange all clients disposal.

If required, taking advantage of our extremely competitive industry rates, we can arrange to have the vehicles repaired, valeted and made ready for sale. Our policy is to present cars for sale in a clean repaired condition, we maximize the use of smart repairers where possible. We believe that for every £ spent in recondition it will repay somewhere between £1.50-£2.00 at sale.

MNH~Platinum have relationships with auction houses, dealers, used vehicle retailers and trade organisations ensuring you obtain the best possible price for the vehicle.

Routes to Market

MNH use four routes to market, direct driver sales, trade buyers, internet resellers and motor auction.

Direct Driver Sales

This is a growing sector covering circa 8% of all sales, the driver obviously knows the history of the vehicle. I tend to achieve 108% of cap clean. There are warranty implications that need to be made clear to the purchaser.

Trade Buyers

We have a core of half a dozen trade buyers that have their own retails car sales sites, this can range from 10% - 30% of our sales depending on the retail market. All out traders understand our business model and the type of customers enabling us to achieve £150 over auction values due to the peace of mind we can offer.

Internet resellers

We have used this avenue on many occasions but tend to find that no matter what they promise they cannot achieve the values we achieve at auction. We do however carefully select certain vehicles that will achieve higher vehicles or if we have a lot of similar vehicles to spread the risk. This represents 2% of our sales.

Motor Auctions

This is our largest vehicle disposal route whilst the obvious advantages are clear of many buyers and a quick stock turnover, MNH attend every auction in person and built up many buyers who are loyal to our regular weekly time slots. We find that as a company we achieve a higher percentage of cap than the auction in general. In 2009 we achieved 102.86% of cap clean on average.
